Chick Flick June 8, 2022 – Silkie, Cochin, & Polish Chicks Growing

Welcome to the chick flick of the day, June 8, 2022. This is only their second day in the new brooder, and chickens aren’t much for change.

My first set of baby chicks growing up. They hatched these babies out on May 23. We got them on May 24. I ordered them from Cackle Hatchery and have been super happy with what I got. Sometimes the camera jus moves off the babies.

I recorded how my babies grow each day. This is my first set of baby chicks. I ordered them from Cackle Hatchery. They are the Crested “Top Hat” Special and the Feather Footed Bantam Assortment Special ordered 10 of each mix. If I had it to do again, I would not have ordered the mixes because I’m using these to start a breeding program. I love my babies, but business wise ordering specific chicks would have been a much better plan.

We also have 1 guinea and three silkie babies that survived a freak storm in this group. Enjoy watching them grow. I will have them all linked into a playlist so you can watch them.

Hi. This is Chris, of Chickens For Chicks. This is where my babies are, and I would love for you to come on along with me on my journey in homesteading and learning about my chickens and doing all that fun stuff.

Okay, let’s see. Come on babies. Come on babies. Those are one of my newer ones. Well, kind of new. Come on bubbas.

I got them moved into this new brooder, I don’t want to open both sides, cause it’s pretty yucky outside. I don’t want them getting cold.

Okay. There we go. There’s all my babies. Here, come here guys. There we go. Na, I think this is going to be a half assed Chick Flick today. There’s my guinea. Hey guys. Call that one Dropkick. Sorry, guys. I know that was a scary noise.

Look at this baby. Those are my older ones. Those are about four weeks old. I think. Now, the guinea hen, I know is about four weeks old. But these other chicks, they’re close to about that age. So anyways, this is Wednesday, yesterday because we had a little bit of an issue getting everybody moved. I kind of skipped yesterday and my chick flick.

But they’re doing really good. I mean, it’s kind of cool outside, but we got one heck of a brooder. And then, of course, there’s my other one. I went ahead and got them a dust bath, but I don’t know if they’re doing anything with it. Hi Mommas, boop, boop. Lord, I’ve got so much film that I probably should start doing the videos on them, but I will soon.

And then while we’re out here, this is going to be a double chicken house, which he’s going to put a run all the way towards the pool. But I’m going to try to do one area for my silkies and then one for my polishes, at least for right now, because I still have two splash, a splash female and then a splash showgirl roo over at the other place.

Now I’ve got some videos, because she’s got some eggs. I guess I could go there and see if she’s setting, I think I will.
